I have a Nvidia Geforce Fx 5500 128 mb. Normally, my fps stays about the 60 mark, but after I re-install renegeade, it drops frequently to 1-4 fps. The sudden drop makes me lag, and it seems to occur every few minutes.
I am running an Intel Pentium 4 2.4 Ghz Windows Xp Sp2 with 768 MB RAM with Direct X 9.0c
Also, another problem I seem to be encountering is, when I connect to Xwis, it says the ping for almost every server is about 996, yet when I join a few, the ping is around 200. Is this an error with Xwis?

Those 996-999 pings mean that the server's firewall blocks ping packets...like a good firewall should

Yeah The high ping's in XWIS just means that you have ICMP by your firewall blocked, so that's a good thing.
About the fps issue since when did it really start after the reinstall of Ren? or was it before, it could be alot of things.
Have you updated any programs, drivers latly? or new software?
If this isn't the case I would look more into Renegade itself.
I would recommmend
- A virusscan
- Uninnstalling Ren not just by Start> config> software.
But doing that and after you have done that.
got to <disk>exampl C:/Westwood/Renegade/data
If all you have is Ren installed, just delete the entire map Westwood do backup skins or anything you like.
Then go to run typ :regedit
Look for map westwood. delete those keys.
Restart, defrag, reinstall Ren after you have rebooted.

If it's good for a long time, then suddenly some spikes, it's prolly a program using CPU. This could be anti virus, anti spyware but as well spyware and virusses or any other program running.

Hehe, I'll see if I can find Aslyfox on MSN, but he hasn't been on recently, and he also got a new system recently, so he might not be able to look at what he did. :s
