WinBot is an IRC bot. What are your thoughts about IRC bots? S should I try to script my own or use another pre-made bot?

Please see MathK1LL's profile.

I would suggest to make your own. Depending on what you need the bot for, making your own is probably best. If you need a bot right away for some reason then for sure go with a premade one.

Its always good to learn new skills and its a lot easyer to learn if you have a project to do.

If you're going to use pre-written code, the least you could do is use a common (read: real) language.

I hear ya. I had been using WinBot, but I recently switched to mIRC as my bot. I learned how script using the /help scripts and the friendly help techs on the BeyondIRC network.

mIRC is not an IRC bot. mIRC is an IRC CLIENT.

Eggdrop is the common IRC bot but doesn't run on windows. Its a linux thing!

Let all your wishes be granted except one, so you will still have something to strieve for.
