The skin protection on Renguard makes OGC ineffective.

RenGuard protects your skin from harmful UV rays?

It does, in fact. I was playing Renegade with RenGuard on and I didn't get sunburned! My sister however went swimming and she did get sunburned.

Let me rephrase this to prevent the more anal members of the community from having an aneurysm.

The protected files system prevents the user from changing the character textures, "skins," to be a OGC detectable color (i.e. red, green, blue).

I beta tested RG with EoE, and thought it was gonna help.
But it doesn't.
Most all the RG servers are dead. Altough it runs on my computer fine, when I had Renegade installed, it wasn't full proof. But I think it has done no harm, nor has it helped as much as it could.

Empty? On an average day, we hit about 500 RG users in RG-protected servers.

Shall I run through the server list, I beleive, All-Out ran that, and that's gone isn't it? Also, how many others play ren, when I see irc, and see something of the names, looks to me like more not on it..

I'm not trying to start something here, but no-one asked you to create RenGuard and spend $500 a month on servers. It's your own decision at the end of the day.

[back on topic]

..

I asked.

Sure, they asked people if it would be a good idea. But my other comment still stands. No-one is telling them to spend $500 a month on servers. They are doing it because they want to, and not because they need to.

1) RG has kept the number of cheaters down...however, some people CAN'T run it (*points at Ingy*)
2) I have a suggestion for moderators: D/L Fraps or GameCam and take VIDEOS of cheat tests... Listen

So many incorrect facts there.

1. Blackhand Studios does not run any servers. Do not confuse n00bstories with Blackhand Studios.

2. Tell me an bypass that is actually working. Everything that got reported to us has been fixed by me.

3. Blackhand Studios does not run a IRC server.

5. This forum is run by BHS and is still considered private property. Free speech does not apply here. If we think anything does not belong here, we move it. Insulting us on our own forum is not too good.

6. Again, show me one bypass, that actually works and is not fixed.

7. Again, BHS does not run a IRC server. BHS has a few members of n00bstories, but many of our people, like me, have nothing to do with n00bstories. So, in essence, BHS does not run a IRC server.

--

Again, why do you connect BHS to n00bstories all the time? Those two organisations are not related any way.

I see many programs made by Blackhand Studios, and you cannot tell me that noone in the community uses them

RenGuard
BRenBot
Core Patch 1
scripts.dll
LFDS wrapper
RenHawk

I don't see YOU contributing anything to the community and spending lots of money just to keep cheaters out of the game.

Also, there was no BHS when RenGuard was being developed, it was ounded a few weeks before RenGuard was finished.. I didn't join BHS, I founded it..

And you don't know anything about RenGuard 1.04 either.. so I suggest not to talk about anything that you know nothing about.

i alwas thought a community was alwas open to anyone..if things have changed since then, i dont know what to beilive..and if people donate to you is it still private property? kinda boggles the mind a bit..

as for cheating there is lots out there, hell there is a section in this one cheat website that says rengaurd cheats..has about 8 or 9 cheats that bypass it, im not sayin i cheat, i usaly just look at what people can do to ruin my server, and even full rengaurd server, you can still use cheats in without renguard on..

This forum, is run by BHS. It is technically private property.

How does donating to BHS make this forum public property? We have moderators from the community, and we remove threads that are not approriate.

I know that site. None of the "bypasses" work. If you are unsure yourself, you should try it out. However, you should inform me in advance or you'll be banned for trying it out.

*makes a mental note to update his laptop's Ren install and get RG up on this system*

Thanks for reminding me. I nearly forgot I'd brought Ren with me...

the only thing i have seen rengaurd do is stop a very sm,all amount of cheats and limit everything. i find it...retarded? you cant have any type of w3d model you hav e to 'show' bhs, and they dont think their power pushers.. all you really need to limit is the heads and beacons! thats the only reason i dont use it..

why just the heads and beacons? because that's all that anyone's released in Big form? What if someone created really big gun models? You can kill someone by shooting their gun too.

RG blocks all known w3d and objects.ddb based cheats.

There is a whitelist, and you need to submit your w3d models for approval.
