Hah. Hilarious. For those that are too lazy to click the link, here's a rundown:
Some Chinese exchange student was arrested in Japan for using a bot to kill and rob other players in Lineage II: The Chaotic Chronicle so he could sell whatever was dropped on eBay. There were no hacks involved or anything. It was just a simple matter of Player Killing and selling crap he got on eBay.(Which goes against NCSoft policy, but oh well.)

I wonder if this is going too far. Then again, if I'd worked for months to get something like the "Helmet of Superior and God-Like Hastening" only to have it swiped from be by some asshole botter, then found it not five minutes later on eBay I'd be a little on the pissed side, too.

I bet this guy thought he was tough shit before being arrested. I can just picture him walking down the streets in Japan saying "I rob people online for a living"

If the bot is not freely available to anyone and everyone and won't get your account banned by the game's moderators, then the bot is as good as a hack.

True but should he be arrested? no.
If people here had to pay for renegade do you think theyd arrest for hacking accounts?
Doubt it.

True but should he be arrested? no.

You and three of your friends work for a week to get a brand new game for free. Then someone else hires a third party (eg, bot) to steal your brand new game from each of you and successfully does.

While you might not have payed any monetary amount for the games, you did pay in time. That time was just stolen from you. What will you do now?

Depends on how i obtained the game. If it was via working for awhile in order to get it, im gonna be pissed, and look for another way. If it was off the internet, ill just go get it again, if i can.

Apperantly I wasnt clear enough. I meant, like, doing something for someone, not just looking, or asking around.

Depending on how hard you look, looking around can be work too. Havent you ever looked around for somethin really hard, and couldnt find it, then told someone: "I worked hard to find it, but i couldnt."?
