I love Renegade. As long as there are 20 people and one server up, I will play it. I have more fun with Renegade than CS, HL2 or any other game.

The 12000 players are what we call a fan base. Look at tiberian sun, there are still people making mods for it and playing, a lot of people.

And it's game from 1997...

Tiberian Sun was released in mid 1999.

<-- Beta phase one, you know me Razz

I'm 25 and I still play games.

Same here, and I have 2 jobs...

I didn't know Ren came out in Feb 2002. I built this pc that November and got the game shortly after. I guess that makes me somewhat of an experienced player. EA didn't appear to support it for long though...

No flashy signature..

Westwood merged with (was purchased by?) EA shortly after Renegade was released, to the best of my knowledge. EA then promptly all but completely dropped support of every Westwood game.

I tried but it says that the e-mail address is already in use or that I have already registered with that game serial.

12,000... Lets put that in perspective. A small town has about 12,000 people in it. 12,000 is by no means a small number. Renegade has the population of a small town playing it.

Steampowered.com:

Average unique users per month: 2,335,749

current min max
n Player Count 139,840 60,439 180,156
n Server Count 87,405 46,189 87,934

This is at 1:12 AM. That count blows Renegade away.

So? Renegade still has a large fanbase. It is by no means as large as CS, but you cannot deny that 12,000 players is not a signifigant number.

Hold up. If theres (as said) 26,000 players still playing Renegade, then why, if I go on now, will I only see around 3 servers with players on. Bare in mind that these servers won't even be full. I can go on WOL at any time and not see 26,000 players. At any point. Let alone 13,000..

It's 26,000 players during a month. It's highly unlikely that all 26,000 players will be signed on at the same time.
