Advertisements aren't a restriction. A lot of Opera users like the advertisements and refuse to upgrade. It all depends on whether or not you want them to appear... It does not restrict any tools in the program at all. Buying it unlocks nothing, the program is fully featured in the free version.

Opera is still free, the paid version is not.

meh, I don't care what I use (more or less), as long as it's not IE.

Problems avoided by not using IE:

Downloads don't randomly stall (much annoyance here when it stalls after downloading for a few hours, at 99% - seemingly for the reason that you moved the mouse).

PDF files don't cause the computer to temporarily stall when downloading and being opened, which IE seems to do at the same time.

Downloads can be resumed within the browser.

I've had that problem many times. IE has a very crappy download system.

Nobody said Internet Explorer doesn't work right, my Internet Explorer works fine.. However, there are hundreds of exploits out there that target primarily Internet Explorer. We are worried about all the crap (spyware, trojans, viruses) out there targeting Internet Explorer. There are other websites that target Firefox, Opera, Netscape, etc. too.

If you want shitloads of spyware on your computer, please continue to use Internet Explorer. Wink

I know that every explorer has spyware, trojans, viruses. Some explorers has more of them and others less of them, but that is why there is FIRE WALL and ANTI VIRUS PROGRAM. If your computer internet security systems (fire wall, anti virus..) are out of date or they just suck, dont blame the explorer itself.

Don't blame the browser itself when it's not the only one prone to such vulnerabilities. Do blame the browser when it's not just the only one that's vulnerable, but it is specifically targetted for the vulnerabilities.

If Firefox ever gets even close to as many vulnerabilities unique to itself as Internet Explorer does, then you can claim Firefox sucks. Until then, I'd hate to see what happens when that newest vulnerability hits your computer and your firewall and antivirus programs aren't yet patched for it. Firefox has so few instances of such that the likelihood of that occuring is negligable.

I use Firefox for the features, not the security. I have a great AV program that keeps everything, even spyware and adware, away from my PC.

I'm the bawss.

So, why not use Firefox, which is almost exactly, if not better, than Internet Explorer instead? Why waste your precious time cleaning out viruses, trojans, and spyware when your browser could of protected you from it. Plus, what happens if your Antivirus software doesn't detect these things. Then what?

Antivirus programs are meant for deleting stuff that you can't stop from entering your computer.

IE is alot more exploitable then Firefox because the ACTIVE-X shit.
And people just press ''OK'' ore yes on every site.

The Firefox exploit has to do with, installing a pluggin.

Thats basicly what im just talking about INSTALL Pluggins and stuff only FROM THE REAL Firefox site and not some other site.

Also not surfing to malicious site's and not updating your Windows and running a good firewall will save alot of trouble.

Remember the programs get updated. But the people who make the most money for it the people who make the adaware spyware. Don't sit still.

Oh,and i use FireFox and i dont have any problems with it.

EDIT: and why do you think that MS has announced that they will release there Explorer 7 before Longhorn and there is like a Windows Update every 2 weeks? simple because they feel the hot breath of Firefox in there neck

My antivirus program is very good. Same problem is with Firefox and other explorers as well.

Why do you keep calling them explorers? They're browsers, "Explorer" is Window's internet and file browser. ("Internet Explorer", "Windows Explorer")

That is irrelevant. English is not my first language as well and I can type perfectly.

I don't want to be an ass, but I'm sick of reading this type of excuse.

A "FIRE WALL" does not block harmful or suspicious packets from entering your computer and leaving your computer, you fucktard. A firewall helps prevent people from accessing your computer and stealing information.

Insane Technologies

A firewall is a hardware device or software device which provide your computer with protection against would be hackers and viruses which attempt to directly connect to computers on the internet.

What's wrong with that page in Firefox? As far as I can see, it loaded completely fine in my Firefox.
