Well then I would say from experience hosting a 8 player sniper server at least 2 gigs in both directions. Renegade is a bandwidth whore.

For a month long period my server would use 4.5-5.5 GB up and 4.5-5.5 GB down. The server also runs a 100 Slot TS server, Web Server and FTP. The web server hosts very little of anything and does maybe 100 MB of traffic a month. The TS server is a backup for another so it only gets traffic when the main is down, so maybe 10 MB a month.

Renegade's netcode isn't very good. It will eat up a lot. But you have to consider, will that 10 player server be full 24/7?

Many people play for the ladder and chose to only play on large servers. So the chances are that your server is going to be empty a lot.
