So far I have imported the old posts from the Mod forum, and Tactics & Strategies forum. This week I plan on ressurecting the old General forum posts as well. That will probably be the last of them...the Clan forum was mostly filled with people advertising for Clans that don't even exist anymore, and clan flames and challenges.

Once the old General forum posts are integrated back in, we can then rebuild the search index so they will be searchable. This is a very db/network/cpu intensive process that takes literally a dozen hours.

We havn't forgotten about Avatars either. Crimson has to edit the board code to support them again (the code was ripped out initially to make these forums look exactly like the old forums), so it's not just a matter of "turning them on". I expect they will be available soon though, expect a limit on their size, something like 80x80 with an additional filesize limit. I do not yet know if you will be able to upload your own Avatars or use ones from a preselected list...Crimson can address that.

It's not always easy to ban people, some have dynamic IPs.

I will allow people on a limited basis to use their own avatars, but I'll have to approve the image.

Yes I would rather let people choose/upload their own avatars, and have a strict policy of permanent ban the first time someone has a pornographic or otherwise offensive avatar. But like Crimson said some people, like AOL users are hard to ban because they get a new IP everytime they dialup, and you cannot ban the entire domain without affecting others.

Hopefully everyone will be responsible with the avatars and restrictions wont be necessary. We shall see.

I think it's mainly England that have the dynamic IPs because most of Europe use static IPs. We always have to be different from Europe Razz

Anyway about the avatars. You should use all of the 80x80 Renegade Icons that Halo and his friends converted to Jpeg. There at the Mod Exchange around 100 or so I think.
