I feel im making progress, at least i'm on to new problems..for now. when installing the core patch, after now renaming scriptsx.dll to scripts.dll i get an error 17. i know it'll get fixed here, your all so helpful and informed..thanks for putting up with me.

I could close the box. I also looked in the renegade folder and found a scripts.dll and the size was 1.99 MB. Hope thats what you meant, cause i'm gonna go try to play. LOL Crossin everything. thanks

I had the same problem too but jw fixed it for me. To do that go to your ren folder and delete scripts.dll and rename scriptsx.dl to scripts.dll
It might work for you
