My Renegade crashes everytime I try to exit it.

I don't remember this happening before ReneGuard so often, maybe that could be it? Does anyone know how to fix this? KTHX

I had that happen a couple times, both times I kept pressing Alt+F4. Eventually it closed fully Confused

Run the game in windowed mode; you will see an error message and will be allowed to close it.

To fix it, run the game at the same resolution as your desktop.
Should fix it

When it usually does that, I put the PC on standby, then it'll take you back to the desktop Smile

Windows XP service pack 2.

Mine crashes on exit. Before I exit , I just minimize and close when outside of the game.

It is NOT a SP2 problem, it is actually a scripts.dll problem, but think whatever you want.

It really pays to have windows ME..

it sure isn't a service pack problem, because windows ME does not get service packs and suffers the same crashing. run the game at your desktop resolution, like most game developers recommend in their release notes.

id bet on the res causing the crash..

i run at 1600 by 1200.. and switchin back from w/e i have ren set it would cause it..

F8 then type "EXIT" from ingame. It will exit Renegade without the crash.

My rig did the freeze thing to, but Crimson told me about the F8 thing and I haven't frozen since.

I doubt it. The only thing that causes that kind of crashing is a faulty scripts.dll file, and this didn't start happening until CP1 was released with a widely distributed scripts.dll file.

Could just possible be conflict of software certain people have.

perhaps this bug only happens when you run CP1 + SP2?

Same colour depth?

might have something to do with SP2 but it won't be only that.
