Alright hear me out boys and girls- the internet on my main computer is definately not working. I downloaded a buddy icon that contained a virus or some contained software that caused my internet to stop being functional. I have tried Adaware, AVGuard, and soon I am going to install spybot S&D on it from my laptop. I think I have located the problem location though- ProgramFiles/Toolbar. Here is something weird- when I go to Windows Task Manager I try to shut down the executible (TBPS.exe and Wintaskad.exe) it removes them from active programs and then replaces them. Adaware has picked up the TBPS spyware, but it cannot delete it and gives an error message.

I'm on XP Home, a year and a half old machine. The connection works on my laptop, using the same network cord, and the other two machines work, also.

Any help is appreciated.

try uninstalling the thing by going to my computer, Control panel then add remove programs. Im running windows me so it might not be called add remove programs. Try to find the program and click add remove. If that dosent work try deleting the program.

Note: Only delete it if it is your last resort or else it could stuff up your pc

Hope That helps

Just format your computer and get rid of everything.

I have followed those instructions, and I have deleted a lot of the virus I assume, but I still cannot delete the Program Files\ Toolbar because it is "being used by another person or program"

Basically it did not work, and when I try to stop the TBPSSvc.exe or TBPS.exe process, they come back immediately.
