I don't know... I got a:

Athlon XP 3200+ (clocked low at 2.1 ghz because I don't like the thought of my computer running at oven temperature.)
1 gig of DDR 400 mhz ram
ATI Radeon 9800 pro 128 mb

With this, I get a steady 60 FPS with everything on highest. Anisotropic filtering, 16x antialysing, etc. You make the comparison...

I just need a new processor and I'll be able to run at great speeds, but my 1.5GHz slows my performance down quite a bit.

Z3 I would definately look into getting a video card, ANY video card. I doubt you will get a very good experience from that set up. An integrated video card is the absolute bottom of the barrell. If I were you I would make myself a small budget, even 60$. Buy yourself the best card you can. If you can afford yourself maybe a Geforce4mx or any other card that is by far a budget card but still better than integrated.

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-128-177&depa=0

Theres a GeforceFX budget card for 58$ on Newegg.com. Newegg's a good site, I bought a new fan for my GF4TI when the fan died. Came right and prompt.

I don't know much about the card and I am guessing its something like a gimped version of the FX, much like the GeForce4MX's were super gimped GeForce4TI's. Atleast with that card though I'd imagine you could at least play. The main MENU will prolly not even run on integrated. ;P Those who play HL2 know what I'm talkin' 'bout.

Doitle, don't show him that card, it sucks horribly. I know it's better, but it acts like a fucking Geforce 2 part of the time.

Icedog, is it better AT ALL than integrated?

Icedog: Yes...

That's my point. Everyone can't have stupid fast cards its just no feasible...

My point is that for $20 more you can get a card that's like 50 times better than the FX5200. Even the FX5200 can be worse than some integrated cards.

It won't run. You only have 128mb RAM, and hl2.exe uses at least 90 at any given time.

Don't you need a DX9 video card to run CS:S or HL2?

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." -- Theodore Roosevelt (1918)

"The danger to political dissent is acute where the Government attempts to act under so vague a concept as the power to protect "domestic security." Given the difficulty of defining the domestic security interest, the danger of abuse in acting to protect that interest becomes apparent. --U.S. Supreme Court decision (407 U.S. 297 (1972)

I use a FX5200, I can get average framerates running FarCry in high settings, same with Doom 3. (Or maybe that's my CPU and RAM, lol.)

I can run Doom 3 and HL2 on highest setting like a dream. However, FarCry, even on medium settings, owns my PC. Sad
