Note I am posting this as a normal post as well, because I know that many people (ironically) ignore or don't notice "sticky" and "announcement" posts. Please direct any replies to the main announcement post, http://www.renegadeforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=12597
The forums were hacked tonight by someone using a newly released phpBB exploit. The exploit has been fixed and our most recent backup (a month old) has been restored. We have the IP address of the attacker and will be taking whatever legal steps we can.
As a result of this incident, we will be greatly increasing the interval of the forum backups, and will be spending more time keeping up to date on the latest exploits, and doing whatever performance and security improvements we can.
