Recruiting is done by everyone, good and bad clans alike. How else are you going to find the best of the best in the community? You're not going to know all the best players in Renegade instantly, so recruiting is a way to bring in all the talent.

On the other hand, recruiting without tryouts is a sign of a lame clan.

Oh we do try out every player that wants to become part of the clan. They may choose some of the settings such as a 1 vs 1 or playing in a larger server. Also they can choose wether it will be AOW or Snipers. Even with recruting we more importantly watch for the talent and at the same look for people with some dedication.

What's funny is that I'm not a part of the EoE clan, but yet I still get it. Maybe it's just that your thinking is sub-par.

Their system of setting up clan matches is via their web page. That's how they operate. Many of their members frequent the EoE forums more often than these, so it makes for a prime location to set up a match. I'm also guessing that the EoE clan members have lives, so they aren't all on at the same time. Imagine that, somebody not on Renegade 24/7. Shocked

Wow he figured it out...We have lots of members they just are very busy so like to be able to tell them when we have matches. It makes life easier to balance with games.
