I've seen it a lot. I've seen the arty without wheels, and the buggy. I got screens of them somewhere but I'm not gonna go dig em up at this time in the morning.

Nah it's not just hourglass. It has happened a few times on my clans server over the last year. It is quite rare for it to happen though and somethimes only certain players will see it with no wheels. My clan firend has a screenshot of me driving an arty on mese with no wheels even though i know it had them. It is quite funny when it happens though. The things i have seen it happen to are:
Nod APC with no wheels
Nod APC with just the middle wheels on each side
Nod Buggy with no wheels
Nod Arty with no wheels
Nod & GDI Harvesters invisible or have no wheels
GDI Hum-vee
I did notice that this seems to happen a lot on Hourglass, Mesa and Walls a lot though, when it does occur. It only seems to happen to wheeled vehicles, don't know why it happens, just some random thing i suppose. This is just one of the weired or fun bugs that happend in renegade sometimes.

It happened to me in a 1 player lan game though and surley there can't be lag there. I bought a Nod APC and it arrived with 2 wheels then i biught another and it was fine.

You're running quite low on FPS...
Only 10 FPS.. maybe that is part of the problem? The game should run on at least 20 FPS if you have configured graphic settings properly.

I think it has somethimg to do with the LOD (Level of details)
Renegade adjust the amount of Polygons showed up consistiong on your grafik posibileties.
Set your grafik settings to the lowest posible seting and you will notice that the vehicles loocks a bit more bad that if you set it to the highest options.
So if many things happens Rengade sitch to a 'lower' LOD may thats why somtimes the wheels diapear because renade switch back to higher level and the mesed up with the wheels.
SOunds a bit confusing? Don't mind. lol. Just a crasy voice in my head told me that.

Yeah the same thing has happened to me before in a buggy when their wheels disappeared i have a picture of it on my PC but i am at college at the moment so i will post it when i get home.
Also with the apc some times when i have the display settings down low the middle wheel gets raised off of the ground and looks really wierd.
Edit: i just read laúbi's post and yeah i think it is to do with the LOD
