Browsing around the disassembly, like every day, I found the movie capture stuff today. Quality sucks and videos are large, but it's still fun to play with.

Sample movie (4mb compressed, 40 mb uncompressed):

Hmm , Could be useful.

Compressing 40mb into 4 is something nice , even though the quality really blows.

Umm I dunno if something is wrong with my media player or what...but for me its only about 3.5 seconds of video, and its all skewed at an angle like some sort of PAL/NTSC error or something? 40MB for 4 seconds...bleh! Smile

Uncompressed 1030x793 video is usually large. Also found the stuff that takes screenshots so I might be able to make it save jpg instead of tga.

I don't know if what you ppl are talking about but I use "Capture Solution 6.6" it can take .jpg screen shots at time intervals(compressed or not) and can take .avi viedo and you can ether have it use a codec to compress as it captures or do it after. You can esely make a 800x600 2min vid to be 3MB. Unless you have a better coddec use "MS Mpeg-4 3688v3" gave me the best size.

He's talking about code built into the game that handles recording movies and taking screenshots.

Well, who would want to use the movie recorder if it totally messes up the playback? Or was that a shitty compressor you were using?

That's the movie as the engine created it. Going to try it again in fullscreen mode some time soon.
