does carfax even show how much work a dealer does on the car? or does it only show what has been reported by the police and insurance in regards to the car.

cause lets say the cars engine is toast, and you bring it to the dealer and get engine rebuilt. if all carfax is showing is insurance data like accidents well your car may have never been in one but now it has a rebuilt engine in it...

I'm not so sure about that situation, but it's possible. I was thinking more along the lines of that insurance and police agencies don't send CarFax information promptly; in some cases, it can take months for the information for reach CarFax. In that time, an unwitting buyer could be buying a used car that has had frame damage even if the sheet says it's clean.

CBC's Marketplace did an awesome TV report on it:

brand new Malibu costs 21,605 barebones and gets 33 mpg
Cobalt coupe SS fully loaded costs 25,305 atleast up here and gets 37 mpg
Dodge SRT4 Caliber fully loaded costs 28,660 need an extra 6 dollars there Razz 27 mpg

i am looking for a nice looking car ( not luxary ofcoarse )
something that is fast and fun
something that can fit atleast 4 people in it
something that will last longer than 3 years
something that has good gas milage
something that isnt to expensive

Subaru. Nothing else needs to be said.

If you can afford it go with a WRX or WRX Sti. You won't regret it. As long as they have Subaru dealerships in the Ukraine? I imagine they do.

Quit talking rice... (other then the V8's mentioned in the end of the post. I quit reading after the above quote)

subarus are nice, but the STI gets terrible gas milage, as it should with that kind of horsepower.

they all need premium in there or the turbo doesnt function properly and will be shut down but the computer. my coworker had a 2006 STI tried to put regular gas in there and thats what hapenned.
also he was getting about 19mpg but ofcourse he wasnt driving it like a grandma.

the fact that you quit reading all our posts and refuse to even aknowledge other cars except domestics means you are close minded dude.

if you prefer domestics thats great, i even mentioned that in my post which based on your reply i assume you didnt bother reading.

domestics are good if you plan on sticking with them for 10 years or more. because by that time almost all cars are worth under 5k and there will not be a huge gap in price.

if he is planning on moving on after 5 years he will be loosing alot of money if its domestic, compared to imports.

domestic v8's are the last thing he is looking for if he wants any decent gas milage from his new car.

and really if you would have done some research you would know that all those "rice cars" you are talking about are only engineered overseas.

for example, alot of toyotas are built in Canada.
alot of nissans are built in USA.
hondas im not too sure about, i believe they are built in US as well.

so really if you are all about supporting local economy you dont loose much buy purchasing imports nowdays. you just got to do your research and not close your eyes on other makes just because they did not originate in North America.

Nothing else needs to be said... except the new Imprezas are ugly as fuck? And no it's not the fact that it's a hatchback, I have no problem with hatchbacks, it's an UGLY hatchback.

And STIs aren't rice since when...?

The Camry is a nice car, but not really in the same price range as the civic. The corolla would be in the same range as the civic where as the accord would be up with the camry. You can't go wrong with a civic if you're looking for something smaller with good mileage, and a new one would probably last you 12+ years... same with any asian car these days though

As the owner of a 04' Camry, I can say that it is good looking, comfortable, and easy to drive.

However, the same probably be said about the Civic, the only difference being that Camry will probably be more comfortable to the driver while giving you a little less fuel efficiency.

Get a Malibu hybrid. Chevy's last forever, at least they used to. Our 95 Suburban is just now starting to fall apart after 14 years of hard use and 230,000 miles.

Ehmm 14 years and it's *ALREADY* falling appart? OK, it has run it's distance, but 14 years isn't really that old I would say?
So please elaborate, in which way is it falling apart. Body shell or engine/drivetrain?
Because the latter would be acceptable, but body shell :/?

Stay away from American cars: technically outdated garbage, would only get a Challenger because they look so ill. This guy's throwing a party because his Chevy lasted 14 years lmao...nuff said.

For a real German car (not these Mexico-build VW Jettas with their outdated engines and inferior build-quality), it's either a VW Passat, Audi A3 or BMW 1-series depending on whether you're looking for space or performance. All of them are slightly less than 30K, classy and more technically refined than the Japanese stuff..

You could of course get a boring Japanese car instead...350Zs (I thought you wanted something with good fuel economy???) are 100% overweight USA-designed garbage btw, get a RX-8 instead.

lol

I got a 91 gmc sierra 1500 v8 Chevy 350 and i like it a lot. It don't get great gas millage but it has power but its only a half ton tho. I grew up on a farm so I wont buy anything that doesn't have 4wd.

you can buy a chip where you can adjust your engines emission controls , spark timing and gas mixtures. you can set to giving you more horsepower or better gas millage. gmc/chevy started putting computer's in their vehicles I think in 89 or 84.
