..how am i fucked, i got it, and it works fine. Online plays great. I hope you know there is always a patch to anything. Im sorry but its true. Give it a month or so and youll see EA move in and fuck the whole thing up. I waited 7 years for goldeneye 2. EA made it and it blows ass. Great companies go under even if pirates dont mess with it. RARE went under long before the first N64 emu came out. And i somewhat agree with NeoX, i would like to try the product first, hell i own three copies of renegade, and 4 mint copies of FF7, because they earned their status.

So far half life 2 is a big let down. just like Halo. First 8 hours your just on a swamp bike, and you cant even see your hands. The game has just started and its already so repetative its sickning. The lvs are impressive in detail though.

I say lock this, it isnt going anywhere.

But in Halo 2 you can see your GOD DAMN FEET!!

Can't see your hands? that'll piss me off.

No. Seriously. No.

You'll be back. THere is no game like Renegade available.
Renegade is more like a 'genre' by itself. Once this genre gets a hold of you once, you will keep coming back for it.

Yep, tried all kinda big-name antidotes: BattleField, CounterStrike, Ghost Recon, Call o'Doody, FarCry, Lock-On (cool flightsym someone tried to get me into), UT2004 (still play that a bit), SW BattleFront, Halo, Half-Life2 & others that I can't think of...But, I still come back to the ol' venerable Renegade.

oh yeah every two feet is another gate....thats all kinds of great storyline. Also the limited distance render is shitty, 5 feet away and i cant see a bottle.

What video card are you running?

Everything looks perfect on my 9800 Pro Cool

Yeah, I'm with abakshi - you got problems w/ your vid card if you don't feel that the graphics are less than phenomenal w/ HL2.
BTW, I was suprised as well when I didn't see hands gripping the "swamp scooter" bars as well...all that attention to detail & no hands? Go figure..?

i got a geforce4 and a gig stick of ram, so its not the hardware. its just the half-rendering thing. Its a good game, it was to short for me though. Yet most games have a limited story line. Overall it deserved my money, so i ordered a clean copy of amazon.

Hell it might even be fixable, i havent looked at the options yet. It sucks because my brother and i will race swamp buggies and im hauling ass, then all of the sudden there is a pile of barrels infront of me.

though in the right mood it makes it more fun.

A GeForce 4 is not a great video card any more....

The game looks fine, and nothing pops up in front of me with my 9800 Pro and 512 Mb of RAM.

I think a GF4 is still enough to give you those vision artifacts you talk about.

I've never seen anything like that occuring to me - definitely sounds like a hardware problem.

Renegade is a one of a kind game, I admit it, but once CnC Commando comes out, I sadly say, that I may leave Renegade to weekends only.

I will not ever abandon it, I have tried. The Renegade community is like no other, and only a mod that ports Renegade could make me waver in my loyalty. I shall see how Commando is like, never really liked RenAlert or Reborn. Maybe I will try out the RenEvo mod for HL2 that makes the Dead Six return, but I will never know.

Hands down, Renegade is a game that no other can top, the perfect mix of strategy and such. Maybe one day a small company like Westwood all on its own will buy the Command and Conquer lisence, restore it to it's glory, and make a Renegade 2. I swear, they would make MILLIONS off of that.

If CnC Commando for the Source engine can pull off a clone of Renegade, I will play the original less. Commando is the only candidate I see for me to make a clan in, and even so, Commando will NEVER be anything as good as Renegade. The Renegade engine was specifically designed for this perfect mix of strategy, and let's all face it, if a company took the idea and made a game like it, MANY Renegade fans would pack up and move.

Renegade is as good as it is because of the perfect mix of strategy and shooting. Never, even with all the games I own, have I seen a game where people really do work as a team. People rush, make strategies, and use perfected combonations of people to achieve a victory. Only one game that was cancelled could ever have taken on the role of this perfect blend of strategy, teamwork, and action. It's name was Command and Conquer Renegade 2. EA got that shut down.

For all of you that were just action, gung-ho jocks, you'll never see into the delicate, wonderful gaming CnC Renegade offered. You will never understand how much Renegade really does make action games look good. All you can see are graphics, better engines, and more people. You never saw into how really advanced the W3D engine was, even for now, it still is fairly recent.

It's too bad that the community of Renegade players slowy dwindles, but for people that REALLY cared about the game, they won't stop until they are the few.

I was told by a clan member to let go of Renegade and join them in CS: Source. I said: "I'd rather play CnC Rengade, you will never understand why." They never did. So I just continued on, because CnC Renegade is a genre of it's own. It's a FPS Strategy game.

I will always be looking for the game, or mod, that is perfect just like Renegade. But until then I will stay here, on WOL and in these forums, and stay until the most dedicated of the dedicated to this game quit, also known as Black Hand Studios.

That's all I have to say.

No. Seriously. No.

I must have a lot of will power, because I've had no desire to even attempt Renegade again. I havn't played it for like a month without CoD and HL2 to distract me.

Uh, that has NOTHING to do with Half-Life 2. Everything renders very far for me, and the game looks hella better than that. Turn up your settings and maybe you won't feel like you wasted your money.

(I'm joking)

Yes, we're staying with Renegade until we release a half decent/decent mod.
