Everything it's about is a bunch of shit anymore. It's nothing but processed meat put on the shelf for sale because they know that these stupid white kids will eat up the albums like fucking candy. Sure, there are some good artists still, but it's nothing but mass marketing on MTV and BET to these stupid teenagers to waste money on. Once a rapper has been on an MTV show, you know it's no longer worth listening to. MTV = death to music, and birth to cookie-cutter and manufactured bullshit for the simple purpose of putting a few benjamins in the artists' and producers' pockets.

whoa.

To say a genre sucks just because some of its artists suck is a pretty flawed argument.

Bullshit != Sucks

I didn't know you had such a love for bullshit. I would've thought people would kinda think Bullshit... well... sucked...

When you say :

You are like QUOTING the worst liberals of all time. What the hell is wrong with making money!? Have you gone soft on us! If the people buy it who cares! I love Manufacturing. I celebrate Industrial Revolution day every year...

Don't play these semantics with me. You know damn well what I mean by manufactured, Kirby. Most of their music now isn't really how they feel. Most of it is to get profit. It's "manufactured" to what the people want and will buy.

I never said making money is bad, but music isn't supposed to be about profit. Once you do that, you've just given money-hungry twits the ambition to flood the market with their bullshit to make a quick buck. Also, I'm not talking just about rap either. Most of rock is the same way. MTV can be blamed as a cause for this. Everything now sounds the same.

You lost me here. You're saying that artists shouldn't "manufacture" what people want and will buy? I don't get it. Why would someone make something that no one will like? Confused

They manufacture the music to target certain consumers. This takes away from the music itself. Would you rather listen to music where the musician doesn't really give a fuck about what anybody thinks and just enjoys what he does, or would you rather listen to someone who's only performing what you like because they know that's what you like, and they want your money? To me, the choice is easy.

Has it occurred to you that the majority of people who buy records from the most successful artists couldn't care less?

Hence why I think it's bullshit. People don't care about actual talent. It's just stupid.

To me, the choice is easy also. I'll buy what I like, plain and simple. If the artist doesn't give a shit what people think and enjoys what he does, that's cool, but if his music sucks I ain't wasting my money. As long as the music is good in my opinion, the artist could be a flaming homosexual that enjoys buttsex with criminals, I could care less.

I like Queen, so I'm not going to disagree with you, but I do have a question. You'd buy someone's record and support them even though they don't give two shits about their fans at all, and they're only in it for the money?

How do "they" not care about their fans, when as you just said, they make their music to what the fans like?

The "easy" choice.

For profits, as I've been stating the whole time. The only reason why they make it that way is so that they get money out of it. I'm not saying making a profit is bad, but to do it just for that is quite ridiculous. Everybody just sounds like everybody else. If they had their own sound, then it'd be different. Take, for instance, this "music" that consists of people yelling and screaming their lyrics. I could go out and make album after album of yelling and screaming, but it'd be just for the point of making money. I mean, who the hell truly enjoys yelling and screaming to the point that you can't even consider it music anymore?

I'd rather listen to people who are playing what they love than people who are prentending as to make a few bucks. Take AC/DC as an example, they don't give a fuck what anybody thinks, and that's what makes them awesome, that and they have their own sound and aren't a bunch of no talent hacks. They paved the way for a lot of bands.

I think your the one listening to it for the wrong reasons. I don't listen to it because theres some deeper meaning or because the artists sees some intrinsic truth that I don't. I listen to it BECAUSE IT SOUNDS GOOD. I listen and go hmm I like that. BUT OMG OTHER PEOPLE LIKE IT SO I HAVE TO HATE IT.

Again you are straying far from Conservative mantra. You wan't people to make things that won't sell. Do you think car companies try to make cars that Suck? Ford Execs: "No no no, that looks too good, make it look like ass". I don't give a flying fuck WHY the artist makes their music. I only care if I like the sound. If I have the capability to make something people like and will sell. I'm gonna do it, I'm not gonna go "Oh Nos are a bunch of whiney losers wearing berets going to complain about the fact that my music is good on their little scary Live Journals!?"

You have a problem with people trying to make profit? You sound like a Democrat. If you don't like it, don't buy it and don't listen to it. I see no reason for you to make a page long tirade of crap about a genre you rarely listen to.

Music is spiritual. It's not just something that I "like to listen to". Music is a great stress reliever and it puts adrenaline in my veins. If an artist doesn't give a flying fuck about their music other than it's pulling in money then it loses it's effect. I just don't like music when the root of it is greed. I mean, I see music much more than just another industry. Again, it's great that people are making money off of their talents, but to have money create your sound is just stupid. Artists changing their sound is just like me changing my personality because of some chick. I will remain true to myself, and I want the artists that I listen to to be true to their music/sound. Again, this is probably because I see music as spiritual and more than just another industry. You have your own opinion, and I'm not calling you stupid for having it, but I'm calling it as I see it, and I still feel that music today (especially rap) is bullshit. It's manufactured, and nobody has their individuality. The only genre I can say that has stayed true to their roots is Country music.

Again, I view music as more than just another industry. I want people to produce something that they enjoy producing. Of course I wouldn't put a product on the market if it sucks. That's not to say I won't commend someone for trying to make it by doing something they love.

Edit:

@Aircraftkiller:

first paragraph

Again, it's great that people are making money off of their talents, but to have money create your sound is just stupid.

You know what else is pitiful? You whining about it incessantly, since it isn't changing anything at all. At least Reborn bashing destroyed Reborn, but rap bashing isn't doing anything to help your cause.

What does it matter to you if others sell their soul out for money? That's their perogative, and they'll pay for it later. You're not God, so stop judging others in that manner and worry about yourself.

Funny thing is, I didn't open this thread up for discussion, did I? Nope, I simply responded to the thread and the replies.

I'm not judging them, am I? No, I'm giving my opinion on how their music is bullshit because they sold their souls out for money.

We got your point the first time. I hate rap as well, but bitching about it incessantly isn't going to make rap stop sucking anytime in the near future. Let the market takes its course and it might just end up like old 80s and early 90s rap instead of what we hear today.
