You can't calculate the circonference of an object that has sides.

Your image does not show a sphere, but a solid with multiple sides.

By definition, a sphere is "a three-dimensional surface, all points of which are equidistant from a fixed point."

It was probably a sphere before its amount of polygons (I'm not really familiar with computer 3D lingo) was downscaled for... I don't know, the sake of rendering the scene quicker.

I'm speaking from computer 3D lingo. I've learned this by using 3D modeling applications. It's just what they call it.

Circles and Spheres DO have sides. HOWEVER:

They are so infinitesimally small that there is no point in worrying about them. This is how centrifugal/centripetal force works. The object is moving in a straight line, but that line is continuously changing as you move around the perimeter.
