Your right on freedom ends when you start limiting someone else's freedom. That's no difference with freedom of speech. When you abuse your freedom of speech to hurt others, there's something very wrong.

To make this clear: we do not want to change the way this forum has always been. If you feel like calling someone an idiot and writing out some arguments why, then so be it. If you feel like swearing your ass off, then so be it. But don't go tell people that their mother should die from any form of cancer. Don't start personal "wars" against 1 or 2 forum members. Don't spam everty topic that is made with plecos, ...

Trooprm, the way you talk to some people in the heated discussions forum is totally disgusting. You seriously lack maturity.

There's no magic solution to solve some of the severe attitude problems on this forum. It will take some time and effort. I really don't feel like just banning a lot of people as I believe some of them are just "drawn in by the flow". It's a matter of showing where the limits are and weeding out the 3-4 worst people which are just here to cause trouble. It's not that hard to find them, most of the time they're quite proud of it. We got a small list in the moderator discussion area already.

I've been around this place for a while and it has always been a pretty tough place to hang out but I don't think it's been as bad as it has been during the last couple of weeks.

That being said, I'd like to ask everyone to think twice before replying to insults. If someone uses severe insults and flaming, then your best bet is to report the message. A moderator can then take care of it.

The "heated discussion" subforum is a bit of a hard subject for the moment. It's supposed to be unmoderated but at a certain moment you can also go too far, even in there.
