some time ago when I played renegade, it worked fine. After I installed Renguard, it still works fine, but sometimes during the game, the sounds get locked up(or lagged, or what is it called), and the game either freezes for few seconds, or it starts to run very slow for few seconds. I did not do anything with my sound card for very long time, so the problem can't be there. I even tried to lower quality of the sounds in the game, but it was no use. This may be cause of lagg, and I allways had lagg during the game, but it never affected sounds before. What is going on?

P.S: I have onboard sound card, and it can't be updated any more
P.S2: this happes only in Renegade (I would like to try if this happens in server without renguard, but it is going to be hard to finy any)

Since RenGuard doesn't change any game files (other than renaming your game.exe to game2.exe) I know it wouldn't effect sounds that way. The best way to troubleshoot this would first see if this does it without RenGuard running in the background. If it does, the only thing I can see is RenGuard is taking up system resources that make your computer slow down to below desirable specs to play the game. I don't see how that's possible since RenGuard only tanks about 11500K of memory when loaded, and very little Processor time while in game. But again, first you should see if Renegade does this still when RenGuard isn't loaded. This way we can see if it's RenGuard or some other cause.

Meh...I'm on a laptop & it did the same to me last night, it's most definately a resources problem, once my Commit Charge gets above 350MB the same thing happens to me, only happened cuz I was running GSA, TS, iexplore.exe, & MSN all at the same time. Razz
