Quote:

lol name some non-anime based games that normal people might like

Define "normal people." Also, they aren't 'anime-based' because then they would take after an anime. There are a few anime based DS games, but they usually aren't that good.

But I think I know what games you are talking about: Games with characters that look like they belong in an anime, correct?

It's funny how you put it and it's made even more funnier after you listed those games because you contradict yourself. Mario, Zelda, Metroid. Those are all "anime-esque" type games. You know, the kind you said "normal people" don't play?

You should play more of those types of games, you might actually enjoy it. A lot of them are very long, have an excellent story, addictive gameplay, and great game mechanics.

Personally, I really didn't like New Super Mario Bros, Metroid Prime Hunters, or Mario Party DS. Mario Kart was also kind of boring, but I played it when I had nothing else to do. Plus it can be fun over WiFi and in groups of 3 or more friends.

I still haven't beaten Phantom Hourglass yet. Don't get me wrong, I love Zelda games, but the thing about Phantom Hourglass is that it forces you to do the same exact dungeon over and over again. It's boring and repetitive. Whenever I get up to it again, I usually stop playing for a month or two before I decide to try it again. I hear Spirit Tracks follows a similar mechanic but they fixed it so you don't have to fight the same enemies and redo the same puzzles. (When you solve something, it is solved) So, I'm looking forward to playing that after I beat Phantom Hourglass.

lmao wtf ... you go at me for making fun of anime type games and you get all upset, then you ignore the point of my post and make fun of every game i said i liked ... you still haven't given me any recommendations ... :/

Most games come from Japan, is what his point was. Especially Nintendo games. Deal with it.

I'm assuming you saw blue text and assumed you knew what I was saying without reading, correct?

Please quote the part of my response where I apparently "got all upset and ignored the point of your post."

Some recommendations? That's kind of hard given your previous statement about 'non anime games that normal people would like.' That was the point of my last post.

You see, the only game that I own and can think of that didn't come from Japan is Guitar Hero On Tour. I would have also suggested some games like Track Mania, Ridge Racer, Polarium, Animal Crossing, Tetris, etc... but they all come from Japan.

Besides, plenty of people like Zelda, and Zelda is quite anime-y. Same with Sonic.

I don't see why it's necessarily bad to have a game being anime-ish in style. You're just being an uptight faggot for automatically hating anything remotely Japanese in style.

You really do feel sorry for Sonic. If any of you (and you probably have) saw the things obsessed and obese fans did to him then they may have just stomped over your childhood.

Sonic was awesome until a select group of people got onto the internet and identified themselves as being anthropomorphic animals in human bodies.

It makes me shed manly tears for a once awesome series. It doesn't help that Sega does nothing but shit out continuously shitty Sonic games, either.

Overly anime style can be annoying, but hardly every game on the DS is like that.

AGAIN TRY

If you're going to be an artfag about it, then fine. But facial expressions don't tell a story.

The game is, on average, 80 hours long. I bought it back in 08, used, at Gamestop because I heard a lot of good things about it. It is, imo, one of my most favorite single player games. Look past the art style and the ^_^ (whatever that means) and you might find the story interesting.

I actually will admit, I fucking hate lazy art in videogames, Japan or otherwise. But then, art in Japan has been lazy altogether lately anyways... alot of characters from anything are practically copy and paste these days.

also, Tales of Symphonia is a JRPG. wrong place to look for a game that doesn't have some form of moeshit.
