The apc texture is a bit too transparent; you can see the default texture underneath. Still nice, just that's a bit off.

that's the point keeping detail

You can keep the detail without having the yellow APC still slightly being visible. Afaik this can be done by changing the stock skin layer to a grayscale layer.
Then, make the new skin layer blend with the grayscale layer.

The map is budding with new ideas and great game-play, AitcraftKiller just has to get to the root of the problem, it seems to have him pretty stumped right now.
Leaf him alone, he's doing a good job. I'm going to go out on a limb here, and say this map isn't fir you.
Anyway, this thread is really starting to lumber along, all this over some sap's map? I thought the game was dead, but this thread at least is poplar. It makes me pine for the days of yonder.

It's not photoshopped 
Afaik that bloom effect is created with an overlay effect in Renegade, resulting in everything getting "bloomed" (menus etc too).
