Recruit

hello thar, having trouble with installing scripts 3.4.4

What i got

* Clean install of renegade (from standalone ren)
* renguard installed
* manually updated to CP2

Downloaded scripts 3.4.4.
Extracted scripts.dll, bhs.dll, d3d8.dll, shaders.dll, sdbedit.exe and the new keycfg.exe
Run renegade, seems fine. try to start a game. and it crashed on the load screen. the beam goes across and stops at a certain point and the screen fades slightly and then the game crashes completly.

Now ive tried, updating my renegade with rend3d9 and running there d3d8.dll and the same but with the scripts d3d8.dll and it still does the same.

EDIT: that is in a lan game, but online i can join the game but my screen is completely black and i can still use F2 and F3 chat etc

any help would be appreciated.

Try reinstalling following these steps > http://www.renegadeforums.com/index.php?t=msg&th=24533&start=0&rid=2

also if you get a black screen try deleting shaders.dll and d3d8.dll

I would suggest starting with the above step that should fix the black screen thing.

When deleting dsd8.dll and shaders.dll i get the error while running renegade "ERROR: bhs.dll not found or did not load correctly" hit ok and the game closes.

I'm pretty sure i installed renegade the "right" way, as i purposely have installed it this time to add scripts 3.4.4 but i will reinstall with that guide tomorrow and see the results then.
