Has anybody noticed that the massive amount of swearing of small kids? I've been extremely shocked listening to stories from my brother of kindergartners saying the "F" word every other minute.

As in the title, I blame the people over the Internet who swear for no reason other than the heck of it. This is my second year in high school and I have gotten through all my school years swearing only once or twice in public, so its not that hard. I just want older people to be more responsible in their speech Angry

Do you guys think swearing has gone overboard??

Eh, I wouldn't blame the internet on it. I'd say it's more likely they got it from family, especially at that age :/

That's nothing really new.

In grade 4, if you were a big man, every second word was "fuck" or "shit" ... that is, until your dad swats your ass in front of two little league teams, and fifty parents because of your dirty mouth, then you shut the hell up, and go cry behind the equipment box. Mr. Green

I would say it also results from TV and the real world.

I remember when I was a kid, my parents would be very protective of what I watched on TV. But they would lower their guard unknowingly here and there and I would get to hear some "bad" words. It works like that in life.

And also from the real world. I would be outside and out of pure randomness, I would see a "gesture" or someone else uttering "bad" words.

Then as you get a bit older, you start to have feelings and what not and you begin to follow up on those things.

I'm 16 now, and I only swear when i'm pissed off. Unfortunately, I get pissed off easily, and will continue to do so for another 12 days.

Fuck yes.

I started swearing when I was 7, regular swearer by 10 (and by regular I mean at least once every 5 minutes, cuz I thought I was cool)

It's my theory that swaering is propagated by adults in media, as well as on the internet. Young children hear/read/etc adults using swears and thereby think its cooler or more grownup to swear, when in fact it really just kinda shows a slight sign of immaturity if that's the only word you can think of to use.

Personally, I do swear (on the occasion frequently), extrememly (fuck, shit, etc) if I am mad (especially at a game), but tending toward lighter swears (crap, ass, hell) for general usage, such as to describe a recent crappy movie, or how someone was behaving like an ass, or to place emphasis on the question of what the hell someone was doing.

Probably sissy parents not laying the smack down. Hell now it's literally illegal for kids to be disciplined in school. Kids get away with murder these days, almost literally.

To be brutally honest, I don't care.

If kids are too damn stupid to see that they sound like a complete imbecile when they swear after every other word then it sucks to be them.

Agree.

I blame the people around the kids.

There is always a time and place for swearing, but not all the time.

LOL at blaming the internet. The problem is parents who are to damn lazy to actually be parents. If I want to fucking swear on the mother fucker internet then fuck you I'm fucking going to. If you don't want your kid learning fuck then keep them away from the internet. If a child is in kindergarden and is using fuck the parents should be put to sleep on the grounds that they are a huge failure at life and had no right to create anything much less a child.

You can't blame parents for every problem kids have >.>

But, unless my town had unusually protective adults, I was never exposed to these words at school. I occasionally hear them on the TV but it never influenced me. That's why I turned to blaming the Internet, cause after it became so easily accessible, my brother and I noticed the kids with very, very dirty mouths at our elementary school.

Yeah I don't really care anymore. I used to abstain from swearing my whole life... but after a while you just don't care anymore. I personally don't swear that much, but I don't mind other people swearing.

A child's behavior, up to the age of 18 is influenced by their parents. If their children are running riot then it's their fault.

Not a lot of parents know how to parent a child, without using corporal punishment.
