This is our first video tutorial, if your new to mapping and you are currently up to speed and using 3dsmax for renegade you might be interested in this video.

I go over (im pretty sure) every tool i used, and is a full 1024x768 video showing all perspective views in max so you can see exactly what im doing.

About 2 hours.

I had to keep the quality up 50 minute movie at that resolution...so you know.

No worries, its just an SFX Rar. Everybody doesnt have winrar, and it has the best compression so i made it self extracting.

I tried making a map before, but I got lost before I even started. Even though I probably won't map, I'll still watch this to see how it's done.

what codec do i need for this? I got divx and I can hear sound but see nothing.

emmm, strange. The file doesnt paly for me, it just sits in WMP, it says its playing but yeah, it..isnt?

EDIT - Doesnt work in WMP, Locks up in Quicktime, works in real, thats just me though.

I just watched it all the way through on Realplayer. With Oblivion, map making is fun Big Ups

I liked your jokes lol and when you said blues clues i had a lil laugh. Great tutorial, not only do yous how us how to make a map but you really teach us how to use 3dsmax effectively. Good job, Id love to see some more video tutorials from you. Thumbs Up

Thank you, the next video wont be of much use to you im sure. Ill just be going over some of the most common questions we get here and the most problematic.

Then a video going over buildings and all of that charm.

Great little tutorial. Big Ups A must watch for beginners!

Tips: Press "o" (the letter) in max to stop the meshes from becoming "boxes" when you arc rotate and move in the viewport. Also, when vertex painting, don't select any of the tools, just the 2nd button at the top (in the dialog) and paint brush like you did on the second time you painted.

I learned a lot as well. My car models will be way better now that I know of the connect tool. One thing though is when you either hit your mouth on the mic or like... sighed on it, it shook my room. I had my stereo up really loud to hear you clearly and then you made that sound and my room mate was like wholly shit, I felt that. lol Not a big problem just something that happened.
