Sure, but you can't host 50 players with a home c0n can you?
Besides real good server host company's are usally straight into the country's host with 100MBIT... so ping latencys are alot better, but if you host a small server why not. Though don't forget that on LAN you won't notice any lag.. so join your game at a friends house or something to see if its good.

true you do have me there, but i did just buy a second hand pc, then got a very good upgrade on it, then installed my router in it , downloaded my fds from ftp.westwood.com then got my bot and hosted my server Smile it is easy than sending off my maps that i wanted hosted Razz lol but still you could pay for a very low ping server so its all gravy ahhhh bisto lol

While installing the FDS, when it prompts you to enter a serial, now you can enter any combination of numbers that is 22 characters long, and starts with 0669!

UPDATE: Serial validation is now active on XWIS. If you already have a valid serial, disregard the step above. If not:

-Complete the first step.
-Open server.ini
-Replace the serial with either a client serial or a valid server serial if you can find one. XWIS does not know the difference between client and server serials. Both will work as long as they are valid.

All threads regarding serials in this forum will now be locked and linked to this topic.
