Hotwire gets killed every time I aproach the Nod Buggy Sad

What am I doing wrong? I have taken the buggy out from a long distance before I hear her talking and I've tried rushing the location with the flame tank but as soon as I pass a certian spot Hotwire comes on and says she can't hold her position and gets killed????? Any ideas?
