I recently had a USB 2.0 wireless network adapter from dell. This was when I had my integrated graphics card. It had very poor performance while playing renegade. But it had great websurfing performance. Is the poor renegade performance the integrated graphics?

Then, I got rid of the adapter. And upgraded my graphics card to a ATI Radeon 9200 SE.

Now I want to get the internet back. But am deciding on which to get: PCI wireless network card or the USB adapter? Which is better and which will provide the better gaming experience? Or was the problem in the first place my integrated graphics?

The video card. My wireless network gets 54MBps which is more than the bandwith I get from my ISP. I'm guessing it's the video card.

If I had the choice between USB 2.0 and PCI, I'd chose PCI.

I get a 5mb download speed! My ISP upgraded the regular to a premium fuel! Very Happy

Upload is still at 500kbs though.

I tried to run an integrated graphics card once, they suck beyond what you could ever imagine.

No. Seriously. No.

So,

1) go with PCI?
2) It was my video card?
3) thanks for the help.

I'd say PCI > USB, though I suck at teh hardware.

It was your video card.

No problem, I'm sure that PCI > USB could be wrong, however... get Icedog on teh case!

PCI will be much faster since it is integraded with the board and you won't have to worry about the problems with usb devices not being detected.

Even my stupid little X300 owns a 9200SE.

It's a budget card...What do you expect from it? It costs like 30 bucks, and for sure it is way better than integrated graphics.

It's no Dual 6800 Ultra that is directly connected to a miniature powerplant, while being submerged in an ice bucket, but it's better than integrated.

For one thing, you don't understand what you're talking about. Chances are, he bought it at a retail store, who price it at $100 at least (I've recently seen the price). With $100, you can easily get a much better card than the 9200SE at some place like Newegg.

And another thing, please don't exaggerate.

http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102409 - A 9600 Pro for $70. That card is even better than mine, and it's only $40 more than your "suggested" price for a 9200SE.
