I was wondering could somebody help me? I run a non dedicated server and im not sure if the renguard cleint protects it or what. I have downloaded the server side version but it only says dedicated? it doesnt say about non dedicated servers? after i download it it has this whole bunch of crap that not even nasa could understand, it says stuff about renegade NFS or whatever and ive neer seen anything about that with a non dedicated server . could somebody just help me threw the process of protecting my non dedicated server with renguard?

You cannot protect ur non dedicated Server with Renguard.
You need the FDS (Free Dedicated Server) for Renegade from the FTP Server:
ftp://ftp.westwood.com/pub/renegade/dedicatedserver/

Its not that easy to setup an FDS with BR, Rengaurd and such, but if u really try and have some questions I'm sure you will find people here around that are willing to help. Cool

so in order for me to serve a game on westwood your telling me i cant play in the game im serving? or can i play in my dedicated server. cause i really find it hard to understand why somebody would just want to have their computer running for a bunch of other people and not even be able to play themselves.

there are 2 ways of playing in your deticated server

#1 start your renegade 1st and then start up your deticated server, you will then be able to join your server

#2 ... I rather not say., so just use #1.
