I have renguard and everything, but when i join a server it doesnt show i have Renguard. Suggestions?

you mean, when you join a RG server it kicks you for not having it, although you have it?

Ya and also when i join servers that have BR i !rglocate me and it doesnt show i have it.

Crimson has said that the database that !rglocate runs off is about 2 hours behind, so don't rely on that to tell if you are running it or not (un less its been fixed and im way behind the times)

If your brother played with his own nick (example) BrotherB and he quits playing.

Before you can switch nick you must:

1) Login on WOL with your own nickname once.
2) Exit renegade
3) Exit RenGuard
4) Run Renguard again.
5) Run Renegade again.
6) Login with your own nickname.
7) Play without cheats Smile

I can switch nicks without having to run RenGuard, run Ren, switch nicks, close Ren, close RenGuard & then start it over again.
All I have to do is change a setting, start RenGuard, & start playing with another nick :mrgreen:

I'm willing to share via PMs, I use it to save time, nothing more... Seeing as I don't want to wait 2 or more mins to be able to go on WOL & play :rolleyes:

Well, I know one thing, the way I do it requires you to enter the password if it isn't already entered. I've tried it with several nicks of my own, each has a different password.
So I don't really see how it poses a threat to WOL-nick owners, unless someone else has their password on hand :rolleyes:

I wouldn't tell others how to do something I know if I felt it to be a threat to anyone else, especially if it was possible for it to be used against me Wink

I know how as well, I don't see it as any threat at all. All it is is a registry setting of what the last WOL log-in name was. Not to mention its very easy to find and RenGuard already prevents the RG Client from being run on a seperate computer than the Renegade name is logged in from.

Although I do see how this could be exploited to get people banned from servers since the RG network doesn't properly handle mutliple log-ins on the same name.

mac reminded me, as I forgot, that the RG SSC protocol prevents such an exploit, so here is where you can change your RG name without using Renegade:

Start > run > regedit > enter

Browse in the left pane to this location:
My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Westwood\Renegade\WOLSettings\

then in the right pane double click "LastLogin" then in the "Value Data:" field, enter whatever name you want to log into RenGuard with.

Also, its possible to make an mIRC alias to do this for you, I can make it if anyone is intrested.
